Activity and Outing Ideas for Doggy Day Out (DDO)
WHAT IS DDO ALL ABOUT?
DDO is all about shelter dog enrichment!
Being stuck in their kennel is boring and frustrating and Doggy Day Out is your
opportunity to give these dogs a break.
Enrichment means doing things we enjoy, so while on your outing, focus on activities
the dog enjoys most:
• Sniffing!
• Being in wide open spaces
• Being with YOU
WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?
1. Go for a hike
• In dog friendly areas where dogs must be on leash (See recs below!)
• Stick to beaches where dogs are kept on leash (See recs below!)
• Many restaurants have a dog friendly menu item. Pupaccino, anyone???
4. Walk around at a local park
• Your adventure doesn’t have to be far from HSSV campus to be awesome
• If you have a pet-free home, or a secure way to separate all animals
