Thank you for considering Human Society Silicon Valley's Rabbits.
In order to make your adoption a success, we ask that you prepare the following requirements before reaching out for an appointment.
Step 1: Housing Requirement
All of our rabbit's require a habitat setup prior to adoption. The rabbitat should be a minimum of four square feet and enclosed with an x-pen. If the rabbitat is on tile or hard wood flooring, please plan on laying down towels or blankets to protect the rabbit's paw pads.

*If you are planning on allowing your rabbit to free roam in your home, we still require a transitional space which would include a litter box, hiding spot, food bowl and water bowl.
The habitat requires:
- A litter box
- Food and water bowls
- A hiding spot
- Enrichment toys
- Enough space to hop around
Please be aware that food and water bowls must be a minimum of 2 feet away from the litter box.
*If you are planning to adopt more than one rabbit, please be prepared to increase the dimensions by the number of rabbits you are planning to adopt. The dimensions above are the minimum requirement for one rabbit. Please also be prepared to provide a litter box, food bowl, enrichment toy, hiding spot for each rabbit.
Step 2: Reaching Out
Once you have completed your rabbitat or transitional space for your rabbit, please reach out to the adoptions department through the link in the animal's profile. You can then send us photos of your space. Staff will evaluate the photos to confirm the set up meet's all of the requirements. Once approved, the staff will work with you to create an appointment for you to come to Humane Society Silicon Valley to pick up your rabbit.

Step 3: Picking Up Your Rabbit
Before coming to Humane Society Silicon Valley for your appointment, please make sure your space is fully prepared. You will be required to bring a pet carrier to pick up and transport rabbit to your home. Please remember the adoption fee for rabbits is $70. This can be paid by cash or card.
